ஆங்கிலத்தில் ஒரே சொல் வினைச்சொல்லாகவும் பெயர்ச்சொல்லாகவும் பயன்படுபவை நிறைய உள்ளன. சில சொற்கள் முன்னிடைச்சொற்களாகவும் இடையிணைப்புச் சொற்களாகவும் பயன்படும். இன்னும் ஒரு சில சொற்கள் வினைச்சொல், பெயர்சொல், வினையெச்சம், பெயரெச்சம், முன்னிடைச்சொல் என பல்வேறு வரைவிலக்கணங்களைக் கொண்டு பயன்படுபவைகளும் உள்ளன.
சரி, ஆங்கிலத்தில் ஆகக்கூடிய வரைவிலக்கணங்களை கொண்டச் சொல் எது என்று தெரியுமா?
SET
ஆம், "Set" எனும் ஆங்கிலச் சொல்லுக்கு ஒக்ஸ்போர்ட் அகராதியில் 464 வரைவிலக்கணங்கள் கொடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. ("SET" has 464 definitions in the Oxford English Dictionary.) இதுவே ஆங்கிலத்தில் ஆகக் கூடிய வரைவிலக்கணங்களைக் கொண்ட ஆங்கிலச் சொல்லாகும்.
அதற்கு அடுத்த நிலையில் ஆகக்கூடிய வரைவிலக்கணங்களைக் கொண்ட ஆங்கிலச் சொற்கள் சில:
